# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It tastes like dessert for breakfast but actually keeps you full until lunch.
  • Make it Sunday evening and you have grab-and-go mornings solved for the entire week.
  • The spices fill your whole kitchen with this cozy smell that makes everything feel intentional.
02 -
  • Don't grate your carrots too coarse or they stay chunky and separate from the oatmeal—learn from my first batch.
  • The top won't look dramatically golden the way cakes do; it'll be a gentle, matte brown, which is exactly when it's done.
03 -
  • Grate your carrots the day before and store them in a container; they release moisture overnight, which actually helps the oatmeal bake more evenly.
  • If your baking dish is darker metal, reduce oven temperature to 325°F or cover the top loosely with foil halfway through baking to prevent over-browning.
